Thing 8

I contributed to the wiki under my favorite TV shows. Wiki is an interesting concept. There may be always someone who tries to ruin a wiki, but all in all, I think having an organized community who can watch the wiki's as "moderators" like they do in forums can minmize any abuse or inaccuracies. I have read Wikipedia in the past, for the most part, I tend to trust what's written there, because I looked up a couple technical subjects that I knew very much of and they were very much right on.

Thing 7

I was surprised about this concept, I thought that podcasts were for ipods only. None of my friends who have ipods had ever mentioned to me about podcasts either. Since I do not have an ipod or Mac, I did not get myself involved into this concept. Well I enjoyed going through the lists and there are so many subjects to listen to. I listened to the Infopeople podcasts. Now that I had been actively exposed to podcasts, I'll be spending a lot of time going through the list of podcasts out there. I randomly subscribed to a podcast to get the feel for it, but I haven't yet decided which ones that I really want to subscribe, I need to narrow down my interests, I'll look for some comedies and humor related podcasts. Book talk or book reviews will be nice to have as podcasts from the library.

Thing 6

This is helpful for groups of people who share common interests and projects. This tool can be helpful in schools, libraries, companies, organizations, personal interests., etc. etc. The process was very simple, it was good to see how my bookmarks compare to everyone else's.

I was telling Judy about this and I asked her to log on to see what I mean, then when I was about to show her, I found it, there it was in grey. As it It turned out, it was quite easy to post my photo to my blog via Flickr...only after doing it the first time. This is an excellent tool!

They have a service for putting your photo on a postage stamp. That's something I want to try later. How about SPL having their own photo on a postage stamp?

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

Thing 4

Socializing on these websites tend to be fun with friends. I personally know a lot of friends that had signed up on social networking websites, I had chose not to as I generally am not comfortable publicizing myself over the internet, unless it was for business or work related. This is my personal preference of course, and also there is privacy settings available. Being said that, I had signed up on MySpace before using a fake name a while back just to see what all the popularity was about. I chose Facebook for Thing 4, It was pretty simple signing up, I did not use my real name or information, I tried Captain Kirk as my full name, but the registration program knew it was fake and it required me to put in a real full name. Ha-Ha! It was worth a try.

Thing 3

Setting up Google Talk was relatively simple, especially if you had set up other IMs before, such as, Yahoo, ICQ, etc. My first chat on Google Talk was with Wookie.

My First Post - Thing 1

Hello World!

Blogging, I read about it, I heard about it, I talked about it, I read them, I wanted to but never participated a blog.

Well, I just created my very first blog and am now posting my very first blog ever!

Very easy, very exciting!

Many thanks to the SPL and the The 10 Things Team for giving me the opportunity to do this!

Thing 1 completed but not with no end in sight, onward to Thing 2.
